Группа Lia Fail представляет собой небольшой итальянский ансамбль с традиционным фолк-рок инструментарием без особых изысков. При ознакомлении с ее материалом сразу вспоминаются такие проекты, как Argine, Naevus или Rose Rovine e Amanti. Опытным слушателям также будет заметна типичная для итальянского неофолка неспешная мелодика, хотя и дополненная рядом интересных решений. Так, в треке “Restless Eyes” основную мелодию будет сопровождать скрипичный декор, а композиция с милитаристским налетом “Battlefield” приглянется особым перкуссионным ритмическим рисунком. Кроме того, Lia Fail самобытны мягкостью звучания и даже "солнечной меланхолией". В представленном материале действительно мало того сумрака, чего нельзя сказать о творчестве вышеназванных собратьев по сцене. Так что обе композиции сингла “Restless Eyes” являются приятными, запоминающимися номерами, которые прекрасно дополняют друг друга настроением и атмосферой. Прежде чем завершить эту рецензию следует также отметить графическое оформление диска. Оно представляет собой небольшую книжечку, на страницах которой размещены средневековые гравюры, тексты композиций и информация о группе.

Lia Fail project is an Ensemble from Italy with traditional neofolk instruments without excess extravagance. While listening to its material it’s not difficult to catch some parallels with such projects as Argine, Naevus or Rose Rovine e Amanti. An experienced listener could also find a typical for Italian neofolk leisurely melodic pattern but with a few more interesting decisions. Thus, the sound will be framed in violin dйcor in “Restless Eyes” track and in the next military-orientated opus “Batllefield” the melody will reveal its features by special percussion rhythmic. Besides, music concept of Lia Fail is original because of the music softness where there is always a certain feel of “sun melancholy”. At least “Restless Eyes” single proves it and listener won’t find there any darkness which is a rather usual element for other Italian neofolk bands. In other words, both songs of the release could be considered as nice and memorable tracks that connect each other perfectly by the united mood and atmosphere. At the end it won’t be right not to mention wonderful design of the cd folder. It has a form of small book with a few medieval engravings among which there’s information about the band and song lyrics. Well done!
